Lunar eclise

I hope some of you will be where the sky is clear tomorrow night (Monday, 12-20-10) and will be able to see the total lunar eclipse. It will probably continue to be rainy and cloudy here in the Rogue Valley, so I'm not expecting to see much. I'll look, though.

The eclipse should start a few minutes after 10:30 PST. The moon will be fully eclipsed shortly after midnight, in the first hour of Tuesday, the winter solstice. The Ursid meteor shower, which would otherwise be obscured by the moon's brightness, may be visible then, too.

And here's a fun set of graphics (link below) on the mechanics of it all!  Not only will the moon be high overhead during the period of total eclipse (at least on the west coast), but it falls on the day of the Winter Solstice, the first time that's happened since.....1554!!!   Hope it's clear where you are!
