The New Forum

The new Discussion Forum is a major upgrade to the PP site software, as it allows for "threaded" posts, ie, posts will be recorded in sequence under each topic. Topics may be begun within a Forum by any signed-in participant, and new Forum titles may also be added as desired. Please email me if you have any problems, or require additional information, about this new feature.

This looks like it could be pretty interesting, once we get going. I'm too sleepy to have much to say yet. I'm over that flu, but apparently not fully recovered. I just wanted to reply to see how it worked.

Hmm...my son tells me it's poor forum etiquette to "double post," but I want to comment, in case it's useful to someone else, that I had a little trouble figuring this out. I couldn't see how to post or send, and didn't know that "Save" was the way to do that. Apparently it is.

Not to be too critical of the programming talent over there at ClassCreator, since our site wouldn't exist without them, but yes, the button might better read "Post Reply" or simply "Reply", rather than "Save". In any case, you figured it out correctly, Karen.

Hi, Cabe and Karen and all. Nice to see that we've got this option going. Thanks for getting it set up, Cabe. I haven't much to say at the moment. We are busy setting up some composters here and learning about composting, in case anyone has tips for us. Being in a hot, dry climate (most of the year), I don't know if there are special things we should do in Arizona.

Cabe,

I just wanted to let you know that when you try to follow links to forum messages both from the e-mail that is sent out to announce them and from the "Discussion Forum" main page it comes back and says the site is under "system maintenance".  If you go to the individual discussion and scroll down though you can reach the new messages.

Of course, I never asked -- are you the one to report website problems to?

Jim
